Herencia- Elastic Arts Dark Matter Artist in Residence

Herencia (Inheritance) is a multidisciplinary body of work that explores memory and the Puerto Rican presence on the South Side of Chicago. I presented a work in progress of Herencia in October of 2025 as part of the Dark Matter Residency program at Elastic Arts. Leaning into my studio art background, I returned to photography as a storytelling device, and began exploring the cyanotype process to develop photos on fabric using archival family images as negatives. Herencia is an evening-length work, incorporating poetry, original music, video and photo installation
